Investing in Bulgaria
Bulgaria and Romania are joining the Schengen area at the end of March 2024, so controls will end for air and sea transport only for the time being. Once land transport is also free, increased trade and investment between Bulgaria and other Schengen countries is expected, as is increased tourism. All this is likely to lead to an increase in property prices.
Another possibility for an increase in property prices is the end of the conflict in Ukraine. Currently, thanks to the sanctions imposed on Russia, a large number of Russian owners are getting rid of apartments and houses on the coast for fear of losing their property. After the end of the imposed sanctions, Russian investors are expected to return to Bulgaria, which will again lead to a price increase.
